The March of Dimes main focus is preventing birth defects and infant mortality. They lead the way to discover the genetic causes of birth defects, promote newborn screening, and educate medical professionals and the public about best practices for healthy pregnancy. MOD supported research for surfactant therapy to treat respiratory distress and helped initiate the system of regional neonatal intensive care for premature and sick babies. Their recent Folic Acid Campaign achieved a dramatic reduction in the incidence of neural tube defects, which are birth defects of the brain and spine.

Based in Dickinson, Texas EquuSearch (TES) achieves its mission of returning missing persons back to their loved ones across the nation. Since its founding in 2000 by Director Tim Miller following the abduction and murder of his daughter, Laura, TES’s all volunteer organization has conducted over 1,300 searches and has found 23% of those abducted still alive.
Tim Miller credits Kathy Lehne and Sun Coast for “being there when we needed them the most.” He stated: “During these tough economic times we have seen a substantial drop off in donations and financial support, and to be quite honest … if Kathy had not stepped in when she did our doors would be shut today.”
Kathy Lehne, Sun Coast’s founder and president, stated that she “is proud to support TES and Tim Miller’s compassionate and determined commitment to finding those who are missing or have been abducted or murdered. Thanks to Tim Miller and his awesome volunteers, who never give up looking for those lost, many families have been helped when they need it most.”

Sun Coast is proud to contribute to this wonderful and life-changing organization. Each October, Sun Coast raises donations for The Rose in support of breast cancer awareness.
