The Houston Business Journal recently announced their ranking of the largest Houston-based family-owned businesses, by total companywide revenue in 2016. According to HBJ, Sun Coast Resources, LLC, founded by CEO and president Kathy Lehne in 1985, was the fourth largest Houston-based family owned business, with annual revenue topping $800 million.

In order to qualify for the list, 51 percent of company ownership must be family members, and include more than one generation. Information was obtained from company surveys and HBJ research.
